Pastor Paul D. Hoover (Senior Pastor)
Pastor Hoover founded Souls Harbor Baptist Church in 1986. Upon graduating from Bible college in 1978, Pastor Hoover became the assistant pastor at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Milwaukee, where his father, Herb Hoover, was the pastor. Pastor Herb Hoover moved to Milwaukee from Missoula, Montana in 1975 to become the pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church. He was a dynamic pastor, taking the church, averaging 17 in Sunday school, and growing to a high day of over 600 one year later in 1976. After Pastor Herb Hoover went into evangelism In 1981, Pastor Paul Hoover became the senior pastor and moved the work to Waukesha. He had a growing ministry with a large Christian school. In 1986, God moved in Pastor Hoover's heart to plant Souls Harbor Baptist Church. For 6 months, the church met in Brookfield, a suburb of Milwaukee. After the church was 6 months old, God moved the work into the inner-city of Milwaukee. On Sunday mornings, people from 5 different counties drive into the city to come to church at Souls Harbor. Souls Harbor Baptist Church has become a bright light in urban Milwaukee, and now has been able to help plant other inner-city churches accross America through the ministry of Inner-City Baptist Missions. Pastor Hoover is the director of Inner-City Baptist Missions, and has a weekly radio broadcast, The Winning Side. He and his wife Cindy have four children who are all serving the Lord. Their son-in-law Pastor Jason Atwood and daughter Aimeé went to Corpus Christi, Texas in 2006 and started Heritage Baptist Church. Pastor and Mrs. Atwood have two boys, Will and Connor. Pastor and Mrs. Hoover's son-in-law Donnie Hagan and daughter Alisa are heavily involved in the children's ministries at Grace Independent Baptist Church - Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Donnie and Alisa have one son, Drew. Pastor and Mrs. Hoover's son Paul is finishing up Bible college and will be finished in December. Their daughter Ashlee, just graduated from high school and is heavily involved in various ministries.
Pastor John Kenderdine (Assistant Pastor)
Pastor Kenderdine is our most recently added staff member, joining us in June of 2010. Upon graduating from Bible College in 1989, he went to the inner-city of Philadelphia to work as an assistant pastor. After serving the Lord in Philadelphia for a number of years, he was called to the country of Cambodia and did a great work there as a missionary. We are blessed to have him and his wife Sherry working on our staff. Their daughter Debbie is serving the Lord with them here at Souls Harbor, and their sons Joshua and Caleb are finishing their Bible college degrees.
Pastor Juan Seda (Spanish Pastor)
Pastor Seda has been the Spanish pastor since 1991. Growing up in the Bronx - New York City, he is very familiar with the great need of urban America. He has a weekly Spanish radio broadcast, El Puerto de Almas. Pastor Seda and his family are a great blessing as they are deeply involved in the ministries of Souls Harbor.
Pastor Daniel Klaus (Assistant Pastor)
Pastor Klaus has been in leadership since 2008. He oversees the Thursday night Timothy Club for teenagers and he also teaches the teenage Sunday school class. Daniel also leads the congregational music and choir. Daniel, his wife Maggy and their daughter are currently on deputation to serve the Lord in New York City.
Bro. Paul J. Hoover (Assistant to the Pastor)
Bro. Paul has been in leadership since 2008. He does work with the teens, music, Jr. Church, and oversees the bus ministry, and evangelism. He also maintains the church and ministry websites, The Harbor Hour Radio Broadcast, The Winning Side Radio Broadcast, El Puerto de Almas Spanish Radio Broadcast and The Lighthouse AM 1710 radio station.
